I was born and raised in Saint Clair County and consider it to be my lifelong home. My parents and grandparents lived here and my wife and I reside on our 3rd generation family farm where we raised our five children and now nine grandchildren. I have been a licensed Michigan attorney for almost 40 years, I was appointed assistant prosecuting attorney and 1985 and spent two decades in that office before continuing my private law practice in this county for another 20 years. I’ve also been an elected official as a St. Clair County Commissioner for district #1 for many years. As one can imagine I have had many contacts with the county clerks office over the years. Those contacts included direct contact with Angie Waters and other staff at the clerks office during the last four decades. I offer my unqualified endorsement for the election of Angie Waters for St Clair County Clerk without hesitation. Angie is a fine person truly cares about others and has been a dedicated public servant during her career at the St Clair County Clerks office. We want to go on record as endorsing Angie Waters for the office of St. Clair County Clerk. Angie has worked effectively in the County Clerk's office for 21 years. She brings excellent credentials and experience to this position. Since joining the County Clerk's office, she has worked under several County Clerks and previously under Jay DeBoyer’s direction and has been acting clerk since his appointment to the Michigan House of Representatives last year. The clerk's duties require filing accurate court records, overseeing the court clerk's duties, and the county’s election process. Angie understands the importance of keeping good records and of dealing congenially with the public. She is honest, reliable, and willing to work the long hours needed for the position.
